Concrete in Middle Tennessee has to handle clay soil that swells when it's wet and shrinks in a dry August, limestone that's often only a few feet down, freeze-thaw winter nights and heavy spring rain. A slab holds up when it sits on a compacted stone base, has steel where it needs it, sheds water away from the house and has joints cut where cracks are meant to go.

How it works
How your Franklin stamped concrete job works
- 1
Free on-site quote
We look at the space, show you pattern and color options, and price it out in writing for free.
- 2
Design and layout
We settle the pattern, colors, borders and joint layout with you and mark the shape on the ground before we dig.
- 3
Pour, color and stamp
We prep the base, pour, add color and stamp the texture at the right moment, which in summer heat means a full crew working fast. Joints get cut as soon as the slab allows.

Questions
Stamped & Decorative Concrete in Franklin: FAQs
Do you do stamped & decorative concrete in Franklin, TN?
Yes. Franklin is about 12 miles north of Spring Hill, well inside our 30-mile service area. We handle stamped patios, walkways and driveways in slate, stone and brick patterns there, and the quote is free.
Do I need a permit for stamped & decorative concrete in Franklin?
It depends on the project. When one is needed, we pull the permit from the City of Franklin's building department and build to whatever the permit and inspection require.
Can you stamp concrete we already have?
Not by stamping it, since the texture is pressed in while the concrete is fresh. A sound older slab can take a stamped overlay, and a cracked or settled one is better torn out and poured new. We tell you which makes sense after we look at the slab.
Will stamped concrete crack?
Any concrete can crack, so we place control joints within the pattern, often along the grout lines where they disappear. A good base and proper drainage keep the slab from moving in the first place. Color that runs all the way through the mix also makes a hairline crack much less noticeable.
Does stamped concrete hold up to Middle Tennessee winters?
Yes, when it is built and sealed right. Freeze-thaw cycles and de-icing salt are hard on any concrete, so we start with a compacted base, slope the slab to drain and seal it so water does not soak in and freeze. Resealing every few years and keeping rock salt off it are the two best things you can do.
Does stamped concrete cost more than plain concrete?
Yes. Stamping takes more labor, color, sealer and a bigger crew on pour day, so it costs more than a broom-finish slab. It usually comes in under laying natural stone or pavers over the same area, and a stamped border around a plain slab gets you much of the look for less. We can price it both ways on your free quote.
