Concrete Sealing

Concrete Sealing from a crew that shows up

New concrete looks great the week it is poured. Then a Tennessee winter of freeze-thaw and road salt goes to work on the driveway, the stamped patio fades and turns chalky, and oil, red clay and mildew stain everything in between. Unsealed concrete soaks up water, and that water is what breaks the surface apart when it freezes. A good sealer keeps water, salt and stains on top where they rinse off, and it brings the color in decorative concrete back to life.

We do more than roll on a coat. Every sealing job starts with a thorough pressure-cleaning and stain treatment, then cracks and joints are filled so water cannot get in underneath. We match the sealer to the surface: a penetrating sealer for broom-finish driveways and walks that soaks in and leaves no slick film, or a film-forming sealer for stamped and colored concrete that deepens the color and adds a soft sheen. Our crew brings twenty-plus years in concrete, serving Spring Hill and every town within 30 miles.

What's included

Our concrete sealing services

  • 01

    Driveway sealing

Broom-finish driveways get a penetrating sealer that soaks in and blocks water and de-icing salt without changing the grip underfoot.

  • 02

    Stamped and colored concrete sealing

Stamped patios and walks get a film-forming sealer that brings back the color and protects the pattern from fading and wear.

  • 03

    Pool deck sealing

Pool decks get a sealer suited to constant splash-out, with grit added where needed so wet feet do not slip.

  • 04

    Cleaning and stain removal

We pressure-clean and treat oil, rust, mildew and red clay stains before sealing so they are not locked in under the coat.

  • 05

    Crack and joint filling

Open cracks and control joints are filled with flexible sealant first, since water getting under a slab does more damage than water on top.

  • 06

    Sealing new concrete

Fresh driveways and patios are sealed once they have cured, which protects them going into their first winter.

Questions

Concrete Sealing FAQs

Why seal concrete in Middle Tennessee?

Because of the winters and the wet seasons. Freeze-thaw cycles and de-icing salt are the main reason driveways and walks scale and pit here, and heavy spring rain and humid summers feed mildew and stains. A sealer keeps water and salt out of the surface so there is far less to freeze and break apart.

How much does concrete sealing cost?

It depends mostly on square footage, how much cleaning and stain removal the surface needs, and whether old sealer has to be stripped first. Sealing is one of the least expensive ways to protect concrete, and it costs far less than resurfacing or replacing it later. The quote is free.

How often should concrete be resealed?

Every few years for most concrete, and sooner for driveways that see a lot of salt and traffic. Stamped and colored concrete usually needs resealing more often to keep the color rich. When water stops beading up on the surface, it is time.

How soon can new concrete be sealed, and how long does it take?

New concrete should cure for about a month before most sealers go on. A typical driveway or patio is cleaned and sealed in a day or two, depending on how much cleaning it needs and the drying weather. We do not seal when rain or very heavy humidity is on the way, and you will need to stay off it for a short time afterward.

Is concrete sealing the same as sealcoating an asphalt driveway?

No. Asphalt sealcoat is a black coating that sits on top of the pavement, while concrete sealers either soak into the concrete or form a clear film over it. A penetrating sealer leaves a plain driveway looking about the same while protecting it from scaling and stains.
